Winter Maintenance Tips for Commercial Buildings | CPI

June 4, 2025
There are three tips to maintaining your facility for winter.

Weather changes are inevitable while the preventative approach to maintain your facility through season change, will ultimately save you time and money!

Do you manage a home, business facility or commercial space? Here are three tips to consider for the winter season.

  1. Check your Gutter System – We recommend that your gutters are checked and cleaned twice a year, fall and spring. Accumulated debris can cause moisture rusting the drain and moss growth.
  2. Check the Windows – Make sure all your windows are sealed and there are no leaks. Moisture in windows can lead to warping, rotting and distorting the frame.
  3. Check your Wood – Unprotected wood expands with moisture and contacts with heat which results in Dry Rot. We recommend that your wood is protected with paint at all times to prevent Dry Rot and Termite Invasion.

Checking off these simple tips off a checklist will prepare any building structure for unpredictable weather while saving time and money in the long run. If help is needed, Commercial Painting Inc., is only a phone call away!
